Hello All - I am about 3/4 of the way through scratch building the German Grille 17. When finished it will include a complete drivers interior and engine compartment. Out side of the road wheels (Tamiya), the top part of the 17 cm gun (Precision Models), basic transmission (Royal Models) and the engine block (Verlinden)I have completely built the model from scratch. I have just completed turning the barrel on my lathe complete with the multi hole muzzle break. Get this - the barrel alone is over 10 inches in length - almost the size of a Tiger II. Utilizing copies of all the original WWII blue prints and photos that are left in existance (that I know of) I have recreated the model in 35th exactly as it would have appeared had it been finished. Becuase the side walls are so large, I could not use styrene because of support and warping so I have done a lot of my own photo etched brass to recreate the large side plates in scale thickness. I have done photos of the entire process and hope to be complete in the next several months. Happy modelling all - Mark
