Hi,

The Jagdpanzer IV early without the muzzle brake SHOULD have the threads. The threads exist in real life, and the vehicles without the muzzle brakes mounted have the threads exposed.

The threaded parts should be painted in the panzer red primer with silver where the metal surfaces contact.

If you remove the threads, and not mount a muzzle brake, then the model will be inaccurate.

HTH! Cheers!
