You have to be pretty organized with civil cars and trucks. In general I like to build the whole chassis as a sub assembly, along with the motor, cab shell, interior module, bed/body/etc. and paint them as units. In car models the engine NEVER fits the chassis without hitting something and the interior and windows never fit the cab either. Then these kits always lack a positive way to attach the body or cab to the chassis. I find many chromed parts are really not chrome on the real vehicle. Or something that should be bright is not. Alclad II chrome is great for rechroming.
