Series 1 seats were vinyl as well. My brother has a Series I from 1951, in
mint condition.

.......You're right- I picked my dads' brains about this- what I had
remembered as a series 1 was actually an ex M.O.D Austin Gypsey- and the
canvas seats weren't standard- which just goes to show that my childhood
memories are about as reliable as a supercharged Trabbant.
