Hi Robert,
Haven't started mine yet but I can give you some advice about MK workable tracks :
1- clean up the links and separate them in two equal amounts (I store them in two separate drinking glasses)
2- start building each length, check them regularly against the length of flexible track given in the kit (fit the flexible track to the suspension to check if it's a bit too long or a bit too tight).
3- when you have two lenghts of workable track of identical length to the flexible track in the kit, test fit the workable tracks on the suspension, you'll see if more links are needed to get a proper sag. Sometimes you'll find you
need one or more link on on of the sides (this happens on real tanks as well).
4- never use links as spare track on the upper hull before you are certain you will have extras once the tracks are assembled. Moldekasten are notorious for giving you just enough links for the tracks (and sometimes not even
enough...).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Christophe
