1. I like the overall paint job. The wear on the paint and the weathering
looks good. It has a splotchiness that looks real to me. I am not sure of
your intent, but it appears that there are several coats of OD, the top coat
of which is scraped through. These vehicles were repainted more frequently
than we would imagine, so I believe this to be realistic.
2. The wear/mud on the stars and division numbers looks good.
3. The barrel of the turret mounted M1919A1 .30 Cal appears to extend too
far beyond the cooling jacket.
4. Why would they be carrying a M1919A4? .30 Cal Machine Gun strapped to
the engine deck?
5. The color of your packs and strapping does not seem right. Too much
contrast between the two colors. The one I had as a kid, which I used as a
back pack, weathered more evenly (and lasted for years).
6. Although I have seen similar in historical photos, I don't believe the
tie-down job on the engine deck would really keep the boxes in place if the
vehicle took a corner at 25 mph.
7. I would expect to see registration codes on the front and rear sides.
8. How are the fuel cans on either side attached to the vehicle?
9. I agree with Paul that a good set of tracks would look much better.
10. I like the interior weathering. I believe the ammunition storage tubes
should be a little less black. I understand that they were asphalt
impregnated cardboard, and although I have never seen an authentic tube, I
have seen the asphalt impregnated cardboard and it is a sort of
reddish-brown-black color.
11. I like the mud on your running gear, although there is some on the
rubber of the bogies and some that appears to glue the bogie to the
suspension arm (which I believe would quickly wear off). The mud splash on
the sponson overhang appears a little too uniform.
Hope this helps. I don't usually like to critique others efforts, but it is
educational to evaluate others efforts as a way of improving our own. A
description of your model, what it represents, and what colors and
accessories you used would be even more helpful.
