Hi,

In the case of Tamiya's T-34 gun barrel, I used cyanoacrylate (Super or
Krazy) glue to attach it and let it dry for two hours since the endcap is
perfectly round (molded that way).

Then, I would spray it with a light gray primer and slowly rub it with
sandpaper using my pointer and thumb to apply pressure with one hand while
the other twirled it. I used the disappearing primer coat as an indication
as to when to go easier. It is important to start at the muzzle to help you
gauge how off the mold halves are.

This is the best approach but many times the end result is a far too thin
barrel (depends on how off the mold halve were).

Hope this helps.

Saúl García
