I haven't built that particular kit. In general I remove these marks with
a fresh, sharp Xaxcto blade. I use new blades, as I've found one clean cut
is much quicker and better than several rough cuts.

Tow tricks I use are to hide the links which can't be cleaned up that well
around drive sprockets or on the top run or if youy have spare to put them
to the side and to do the track clean up on a rainy day or the like, so as
not to waste valuable modelling time (I store them in 35mm film roll
cannisters)
