At least with German tanks there are no shocks, etc. The torsion bar suspension is totally inside the tank. I think it is kind of neat to have something that moves a little, especially with something like Friul tracks. Just to be able to sit the tank on a little uneven surface to see how the suspension sit adjusts itself.
