Here is something that has been rattling around my empty head for an upcoming Trump Chally 2 build...
1. Mask off the areas to receive the anti-slip.
2. Brush a thin layer of Future or equivalent clear acrylic.
3. Sprinkle a nice layer of DE powder over the "Future'd" areas, let set a few, then blow off the excess.
(For you swimming pool owners, this be the white Diotomaceous Earth powder, also sold in small quanties in garden supply stores. DE is micro-fine "sea ahells", much finer than any sand one could buy or create from emory-board scrapings.)
4. Once good and dry, paint a this topcoat of your color choice.

Just an idea.
