| Subject: | Hard to bend | |

| The problem with bending them is you can bend them in one direction but not towards the points of the bullets, if that makes any sense. Real MG ammo belts bend funny because the projectile end of the bullet is thin and pointed and the base of the cartridge is wide. Makes the belts fan out in a semicircle. Look at the famous photo of the German MG gunner from the oft printed Battle of the Bulge photo series to see what I mean. usually on the DML and Tamiya belts I twist and bend the belts a little but wind up cutting them in small sections and even into little pieces of just a couple of bullets to try to curve them better. I have not found hot water to do anything at all. I carefully bend and work the belts slowly with my fingers to get the proper curvature. |
