Mike -
The high rubber content of the AFV parts make them easy to bend without breaking, just take a reasonable amount of care, especially near the gates. A soak in hot water would also help. My part S28 went in several directions (the entire S frame looks like it was a bear to get out of the mold), but it responded well to gentle pressure. I haven't got this far along in assembly, but the other gun parts don't look as warped as that one. Even if they are, I won't trash the kit, 'cause I think its overall look is worth the effort to get as right as I can do.
I am increasingly of the opinion that neither AFV nor DML actually assembled one of their respective kits before drawing up the instructions.
