I think I read somewhere that Frui were searching for good source photos for making track-links for the Karl Gerät. I tried to e-mail them regarding this matter, but I have not got any response from Fruimodelisimo yet.
I believe they want to make two different kits; one for the early, and another for the late Karl type. Gun I and II had different tracks than gun III-VII. Each track-link were shorter with no hole in the horns.
Even if the Trumpeter kit supplied tracks are rubber band, they are much better detailed than the ones that comes with the DML kit. Unfortenately there are a lot of clean-up to do on the DML kit, as there are an ejctor-mark on each track-link on the inside. Also you need to drill out a hole in each horn of the track-links in order to make them look like the tracks of gun III - VII. |
