Thanks everyone. Still hesitant, I went back to the hobby store and one of the guys actually "demo'd" MBS solvent cement in the back for me. I am convinced --although I just put two Italeri SU-100 hulls together standing up near the kitchen window (WIDE OPEN) with extreme ease.
Wonderful stuff. I didn't know it was that easy.
