Hi Guys,

Taking a break from my Chieftain and thought I'd share a new way of making fillets on them older Tamiya kits and the like. You know, lift rings that the hole in the kit's body is too large for and then you wind up with a gap on one side. I decided to try applying putty to one side of the lift ring before installing it. I use Squadron putty as Testors liquid cement can soften it quite easilly. First I coated the ring and the hole in the hull with Testors liquid, then used a toothpick to dab on some putty onto the ring below where it meets the hull surface, bingo, it was filled and just needed a little smoothing out with the toothpick. Its no master trick, but alot easier than trying to fill the gap after the ring or whatever is glued in.

Model on,
Clair
