It's been noted that AFV Club's Long Tom is not designed to be built in the travelling position, despite their claims to the contrary in the original set of instructions. It seems somebody at AFV Club has spotted the problem and made some amendments. I picked up an 8'' Howitzer recently (presumably from a newer production run than my Long Tom kit) and spotted some key differences in the instruction sheets. Anyone with an older kit should take note.
