For me I would suggest Cavalier or ATAK kits for a great finish that looks realistic and is pretty darn easy to use. Niether are without their minor frustrations but I have just added the Cavalier set to my Tamiya late tiger (a good practice run for the Dragon one I have waiting for some attention)and it looks great - I'll try and ad some pics.
If you are in the UK you can get the Cavalier stuff from www.military-precision.co.uk costs about £13
