Andy,
The Esci kits are far superior. However for an USMC tank with extra armour
you will have to kitbash. I'd suggest kitbashing the Esci and Tamiya kits as
the add-on armour is crisper in the Tamiya kit compared to the Academy. For
an IDF M60A1 Blazer either find the old Verlinden conversion, use the Esci
M60A1 Blazer, or kitbash with Academy M60A1 Blazer which has many useful IDF
parts.
Italeri have an M60A1 Blazer on their new releases list for 2001, if it's a
rebox of the Esci kit it will be easily available and cheap!
I recommend also using AFV CLUB tracks, the Esci one are not too bad but
difficult to assemble.
