Hello -

Another way to achieve the "pitted" effect from the spray can ( especially Mr Surfacer 500), is to stand back from the model a bit and spray from a distance in light coats. I found this works well on 1/72 scale. Upon completion you may want to vacate the premises for a bit as Mr. Surfacer tends to stink up the place! I try to do this in the garage as much as possible, weather permiting!
