Hi Stef,

An interesting question. I guess (basing on brief search on Russian unifor references), there weren't any principal differences. The "telogreika" was officialy brought into service by the Order of the People's Commissar of Defense (Narkom oborony) of Aug. 28, 1941.
So, the "pre'war" styles (if there were such) were worn unofficially.
I believe the jackets could be taken from stocks of the working clothes (these padded jackets are still mostly known as working clothes). It could take place during the Winter war with Finland, for example. So these items may vary in color (even to black) and some details (pockets etc.), but I think they were mostly the same.
