Hello, Alexey & Ian,

Thank you both for your very helpful replies.

Alexy: Your link to http://rkka.ru/uniform/files/arm12.htm is very much appreciated. The color rendition of the full winter kit is really very good. The photo discloses the color variations possible, as Ian also suggests. Dooubtless I will be exploring this site at length.

I've actually been able to find quite a few photos of orginal & repro telogreika for sale on the Web. For some reason, many seem to be constructed of a cloth that is distinctly on the light brown buff end of the spectrum. I'm attaching a .jpg of what is said to be an M41 version.

And, by the way, your English is fine.

My inquiry arose out of the desire to depict some 30s Soviet armor & crews, and I have been collecting various Red Army figure sets. The Tamiya Russian Army Assault Infantry #207 and the Dragon Soviet Infantry Tank Riders #6197 both provide figures outfitted for winter. The former has a mixed representation of "long, turned collar" and short round collar styles, the latter exclusively the round collar style. I assume that the turned collar is the earlier, appropriate for scenes prior to 41/42?

Ian: I would be very interested in knwoing more about, and availability of, your research on tanker helmets. I have been fretting over how to do the M35 type, which appears to be some conflation of the WWI Adrian and Russian "budenovka."

And yes, do keep us all informed about your current project.

Very best,
Stef
