The collar patches changed in 1942.
Wehrmacht StuG/StuH crews in artillery units adopted the Litzen patches and continued to use the red piping, while StuG/StuH crews in panzer units continued to use the "death heads" collar patches and pink piping (yellow in the 24th Panzer Division).
