Herve,
Good luck with this project. To start you will need to know a little color theory. Primary colors are red, blue and yellow (foundation of all other colors). Value colors are white (highest) and black (lowest) to help recreate highlights and shadows. Complementary colors (opisite on the color wheel) red-green, yellow-purple and blue-orange when mixed will dull down bright colors or create rich browns, grays and even black.
You may want to first start with a olive color by combining cadnium yellow and ivory black. When you get the value (dark to light) that you want add cadium red to create a drab color (the more cad red added the redder or browner the olive color). To create highlights start to add more cad yellow and flake white (you will create a khaki type color or buff with nore white). For shadows you could add more black but this sometimes makes it look gray, dull or loose color intensity. If you want a very rich black that doesn't tone down or dull down the main color mix raw umber and ultramarine blue for the dark black like shadows.
I know this is a bit wordy but I hope it helps.
