Hi Paul
There are lots of figure magazines.
Hands down, the best is Figurines, from France. You can get it easily in Quebec, I'm not sure about BC. Superb photos of items and show reports. Great uniform articles. Rather florid (at times) French text. The best mag out there.
Then there's Historical Miniatures magazine, published in the US. It's got similiar content to Figurines, but the photos aren't as good. I find the articles aren't well edited either. In English though.
Military Modelling covers a lot of good stuff, and has some articles by the best in the business. It does an adequate job of covering armor, figures and other military models. Hit and miss for figure articles though.
There's a nice Spanish magazine, I forget the title. The photos are almost as good as in Figurines, but the magazine is shorter. I don't read Spanish, so I can't tell you about the content.
Figure International is a joint venture between Andrea Miniatures and Squadron. I subscribed for a year, and have a few other issues, because they sell them off for about a buck each at Squadron. It's sh!te. There is remarkably little content with lots of ads, and terrible translations from the original text. A complete waste at 10 bucks an issue, but worth it for the pics when you can get them for a buck.
Amazing Figure Modeller is for scifi/fantasy.
There are some others, but they aren't focused on military miniatures.
I have extras of some mags if you want to see them. Contact me, and I can send them your way.
