I can't help on the mittens (I've yet to see a photo of someone in a tank wearing them - they wouldn't have been very practical). As for the uniform, it depends whether you're modelling the Panther as an SS vehicle or an Army vehicle. The SS issued camouflaged uniforms to tank crews, while Army tank crews rarely wore them, and the patterns and colours were different.
