Hi Paul and Everyone,
I don't know how you feel about Walmart or if you are even close by one but I have had pretty good results with their pimers and they are less than $1.00 a can. They go on in extremely light coats as it seems there's hardly any pigment compared to carrier. I think you will be happy with the result and the cost if you want to give them a try. They even have a red oxide for you guys who want to prime your German tanks. I use them to prime my figures and all of my resin castings. The Krylon metal primer is also good because of the thin mixture but it's a little more expensive.
