hi,

from my own personel experience.. the Tamiya figures can very in size depending on the year they are made, and the vehicles or equipment their supposed to fit. The seated figures in the dragon wagon or m20 are quite small for 35 scale standard, but still within acceptable range. whereas some of the older 70's figure tamiya kits almost approach 32nd scale.

either way , as has been covered in a threwad similar to this before.. as long as the equipment is in scale (helmets come in one size as do rifles etc) the height of people vary in the forces from 5 foot 3 to 6 foot +. even at 35th scale , thats a difference of almost 20 percent.
