Too late. You did it.
Hello Paul, Andy and other Brit/CW fans,

Yes, I do listen to what modelers have to say of course. :)
But I clearly know what I need for Alpine. I hear many modelers
asking for Brit/CW figures along with other subjects. It's rare that
modelers ask for more German tankers. And yet, the later sells
more than the former by far not only at the time of release but also
through the constant re-orders. In fact, Alpine's Brit/CW tanker
did so poorly, I'm cosindering discountinueing it. I started
Alpine line with 1 German, 1 Brit, and 1 modern Russian
thinking that there must be some sort of merits to all the
complains by Allied modelers and Modern modelers. Well,
I was naive. Also. there are a few Alpine figures which ideas came
from other modelers' suggestions. None of them did well.
FYI, WW2 US tankers are the "distant" second.

Don't get me wrong. I do want to make figures other than WW2 Germans.
Trust me here. But remember that Alpine along with other 1/35
resin figure manufacturers are also known as "aftermarket" industry.
We need Tamiya, DML, etc to create market momentum so we can
introduce a few resin figures here and there. For instance, it would
be a great chance for me to make a pair of Brit/CW tankers in pixie
suits if DML releases Churchill series.

A month ago or so, I posted a request online asking for detailed
info on WW2 French tankers and IDF tankers in 60s. Got no replies
good enough for me to start those figures. Why? Not becasue modelers
are not willing to help. But becasue of the lack of reference materials.
I tried to locate books with no luck. But for WW2 German SS uniforms,
I don't even have to go to a hobbyshop. They have them at the nearest
Barnes & Noble's.

Guys, this is what you need to do if you are into less popular
subjects. When there's a new item released, go buy it. Go buy
the product and match the number to Axis modelers'. As you
repeat this, companies will gradually find out that there's a
market to cater to. I personally believe that this is the only way.
Otherwise, you are just aksing companies to lose money and
waste time.

Lastly, I 'd like to point out that 18 out of 35 Alpine figures
are non WW2 German. Wanna know what people asked when I
released WW2 US, Russian, etc?
"Why only WW2?, Why not Napolionic?" "Why only 1/35?, why not 1/16?"
If I make a Brit tanker, I bet there will be someone wondering,
"Why not a CW tanker?"

I hope I expressed my point clearly here. :)
