Alex,

I tried Milliput and never liked it. I've used A + B putty for years with good results. I've also used Tamiya epoxy putty which is very good but is expensive for the amount you get. I have some Magic Sculpt that was recommended by some figure sculptors but I've yet to try it. A lot of sculptors are using Apoxie putty but once again I've yet to try it. Bill Horan and Mike Good use a lot or Duro epoxy putty ribbon but I've found it too rubbery for my likes and it is difficult to blend.

As far as sticking to tools, I keep a cup of Isophroply (spelling?) alcohol handy. dipping tools in the alcohol keeps the putty from sticking yet leaves no residue. I also found dipping a paintbrush in the alcohol and brushing the putty helps smooth the surface and you can get the putty very thin and blend and feather edges.

Hope that helps.
