Hi Taesung,
Pixie suits & jerkins may not have been a common combination (both are lined with thick serge blanket material & would have been a stiff & bulky combination to wear inside an AFV, possibly hindering escape if hit), but I know of one that was quite common - greatcoat & pixie suit. This was mainly worn by AFV commanders, who would have had to ride out of their hatches in all weathers to aid the drivers.
Royal Armoured Corps soldiers tend to get unit tailors to shorten the greatcoat by cutting off the skirts at around hip level, rather like the US jeep coat. This would have provided warmth to the top half of the body, whilst giving the commander freedom of movement in confined spaces. Some crewmen also removed the regimental buttons from their greatcoats & replaced them with plain plastic ones, to reduce the shine.
This combination continued not just in WW2, but as late as the 1980s. I recall seeing RAC crewmen dressed like this frequently in Germany in 1979-81, whilst serving with British Army of the Rhine. The practice has probably died out now, because greatcoats are only issued for ceremonial purposes. So if you were to produce a figure of an RAC crewman wearing a pixie suit & a cut-down greatcoat, this would not be incorrect.
On a separate thread, I'm currently painting your 1/16th Grossdeutschland Panzer Officer & enjoying every minute of it - nice detail!
Hope this helps,
Chris.
