Good question!

The only time I've tried to get a plastic figure (Tamiya) to fit in the driver's seat of a tank (Academy) it was a failure. The seat, instruments and figure have to be built together somehow, and a lot of carving of the rigid plastic is necessary.

I don't see why Dragon or Tamiya couldn't engineer a set like that, but you have a tough time seeing the figures, so perhaps there's little market for them. Are you doing a cut-away version?
