Funny this, I was just thinking about Hinchcliffe the other day. Two of the members of my model club in the mid 1970's were Cliff Sanderson and Norman Abby. For those who don't know (and it is a long time ago) Cliff was a designer (He did the Zulu war range amongst others) and Norman seemed to be the in-house painter, apparently the Zulu range came about after a lecture at the club about the war. Cliff did a range of cast figures for the club competition in 1975 (ish) of a (I think) Sudanese Guardsman mine is 17 of 22 I've mislaid it at the moment but when I find it i'll try and post a pic. I would love to get a copy of the taisho at the time my pocket money didn't stretch to that sort of cash.
I don't think that the figures looked particularly clunky bearing in mind they were 54mm and made of fairly high quality pewter.

Cheers

Craig
