Subject:  German Infantry Greatcoat Colour?List thread.

 Date:  Feb 4, 2007
 From:  Steven Camley
I am painting Dragon's HG Division [Anzio} and the colour specified for the greatcoat, and indeed on Volstad's excellent illustration, is Testors1741- a dark grey.
On another set, Winter's Onset, the specified colour, and Volstad's, of the greatcoat is Testor 1710 an olive green.
Another set I have, Frozen Battleground specifies 1723- blue grey.
Stalingrad Inferno? 1764
But all the colour photograph's I have show only one colour ,[with slight shade variations], to be a blue/green.
So what colour is the greatcoat?
I am aware there more than one type of greatcoat- but is there more than one colour for the ordinary infantryman, [as opposed to officers]?
Any help would be appreciated.
Steven
