Another thing to remember about German Army clothing in general in ww2 is.As the Reich expanded it was ofter made in other countrys than just Germany, and was of good quality,as the Riech shrank so did the availability of good clothing. Great coats made in France,Holland etc for the German Army/Navy/Air-force would have been well made, with lining, extra pockets etc.And though cut and made to German design may well have been made, with cloth on hand.So colour varied a great deal.Clothing was also taken from other Armys and used by The Germans.IE the BUF left tons of British Uniforms behind after Dunkirk, these where issued to U-boat crews, and anti-air craft crews, but with German insignia.Norwegian,Dutch,French great-coats all saw service with the German army, but with German insignia.
