Hello,
Actually, there is a resin figure that was sold by either warriors or maybe Jaguar. It was designed to fit nicely in the gun ring of the M8 or M20. He was either firing the 50 cal or maybe reloading it.
Steve Zaloga's new Sherman book from Osprey also shows a nice diorama with a figure firing the 50 cal from outside of the turret. Finally, you might be able to adapt one of the Tamiya MG crew figures, or mix and match with the commander figure firing the 30 cal on the M5A1.
Good luck.
