Hi There, Man of Steel :)
Speak to me, hahahaa...
I've just finished my second from the series; the first one I built as a DAK IV-E Early and for seconds I did the IV-D in the plain Pz-Grey livery of the France 1940 campaign.
To tell you the truth, the second one went a lot faster than the first one, knowing where the little snakes are under the grass and knowing What Lies Ahead resulted in a more efficient planning hence finished the D in about half the time of the E!
So as in many other things, once you get started the speed picks up by itself... it's called momentum or something isnt it ? :)
I shall be tackling number three, the new F with the long barrel and rounded muzzle brake, after a refreshing retreat into the Swiss Alps for 3 and a half weeks in June.
Me too looking for suitable crews, especially for the D with early black panzer uniforms and those kinda outsized silly pancake berets.
Since the Dragon announcement was yet to rise from the East I ordered a cheap (...but after all quite nice looking...) Early PZ crew kit of MiniArt.
Especially for the fact that this set has two crew members sitting/hanging-out-of the turret's side hatches.
A pose you see in lots of pics.
And I'm getting a bit fed up with the usual commander staring heroically out of the turret into the vast and unpreditable distance only, with that "now zat's anuzzer fine mess mein Führer got me into" kind of look in his beady 1/35 eyes.
The only improvement I will throw to these figures is replace the heads with ones from Hornet (set HGH 07 Beret and HGH 18 with the 'schiffchen' soft sidecap).
Any hints on when you are coming across The Small Pond in the foreseeable future?
Keep well and Happy Modelling
