Tom,
You're going to love this answer...it varies greatly. At the start of OIF some troops still used the old olive green ALICE LBE (Load Bear Equipment) but units were tranistioning to the new system that attaches directly to your body armor. Most all units have made that transition now but the colors patterns still very according the the type of unit...Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC. Much of the Army equipment is now the ABU pattern (digital shades of green). The Army has really been trying to make everything that soldiers wear the same color pattern (uniform, rucksack, body armor, helmet, and web gear). The 3 color desert camo pattern is still prevelant for web gear in many units outside the Army.
