I have used them and they work very nicely if you are patient. They are much thicker than regular decals and require a good bit of Micro-sol, but the results are nice. As for the old fashioned hand paint method, depending on the patterns you are recreating and your skill level, the decals can take as much time and work. Certain figure sculpts will not work too well with the decals, due to anatomical positions. All in all, it was worth the money I spent, but I'm not saving much time, just some eyesight and sanity!
