Hi Steve, I am one of the Moderators at TimeLines and just wanted to say that you have been given some great advice here. Books can help but nothing beats practice, practice, practice, and more practice. Look at the finished work of several different painters whom you admire and try to copy their style. You will find that you will develope your own style over time. Keep painting!
