I picked up the big 1/16 Type 89 Chi Ro tank off Hyperscale for $50. Its like a $500 kit... The casting quality is VERY good, with all those thousands of rivets, not one has a bubble in it. Fit and engineering are generally good. Its a big, complicated tank turned into a big, fairly simple kit. Some parts like the hatches and tail skid are VERY thin and badly warped. Even hot water didn't help a lot there. I would rate the kit much, much, higher than the big Verlinden resin tanks, which are the only other big resin tanks I have built.
His 1/35 stuff seems interesting. Also, somewhat disturbing. At least some of his kits seem to be copied from Pit Road kits. His own descriptions are a bit vague here but he implies he has made resin copies of the expensive and hard to get Pit Road kits, and added detail to them. He has a lot of figures... some look ok and some seem rather awkward at least going by the photos. He does have a nice big Japanese tank decal sheet. Thats something you don't find every day.
I have not bought anything direct but he was very prompt in answering questions. |
