> Certainly Stalin was a monster, but the Soviet (Notice I didn't say Russian) trooper was in a world of doodoo thanks to those guys in the cool looking smocks, and suffered unimanginable losses. But still they attacked - and won.

Hey Barry,

Not to be picky, but the Soviet soldier didn't usually 'keep attacking', but instead, one guy would attack, along with 10000 of his friends. When they were killed, the next batch would attack, and so on, and so on, and so on for 3 years.. These soldiers WERE in a world of doo-doo, but it was not just on account of the cool-smock-wearing fellas on the other side of the line. We all know that these guys had no choices at all - attack and die, or die for not attacking. Don't surrender, or the Germans will likely kill/torture you, or if they don't, Stalin will see you die in a Gulag. Only Joseph Heller could find
inspiration in this.
