Julian,
The '5 heads tall' canon you are speaking of was actually an Ancient Greek standard and was actually 5 1/2 heads tall. More contemporary canon for figures is 7 1/2 heads tall. The more slender fashion model canon is 8 1/2 heads tall. I have been drilled this into my head by art instructors for about 30 years now. Actually the 7 1/2 heads tall really works quite well.
