Hello Mike,
May I begin with saying that uniform colours in desert environment quickly loose their original colour, caused by the dusty conditions and the almost daily harsh sunlight.
Therefore, my colour suggestions are only a guidance and you may decide yourself how much you want to make the following colours fade.
If you have access to Vallejo Acrylic Colours the mix is as follows.
Tunic : 50/50 mix of VC888 Olive Grey and VC978 Dark Yellow.
Add-in VC950 Flat Black for shadows and add-in VC819 Iraqi Sand for higlights.
Trousers : 50/50 mix of VC872 Chocolate Brown and VC914 Green Ochre
Add-in more VC872 for shadows and add-in VC819 Iraqi Sand for highlights.
These mixes are suggested on Vallejo's own internet site and are used by famous prizewinning figure modellers.
The site also gives equivalent Vallejo numbers for other brands like Tamiya acrylics, Humbrol, ModelMaster and others so if you can't get your hands on Vallejo -which really is ideal for figure painting- you still might be able to sort out which colours to use.

Happy Modelling
