Hi
I understand where Steve is coming from when he mentions the difference in scale for figures that are supposed to be 1/35 scale. I've never purchased Verlinden figures but read many times how much larger they are, closer to 1/32 than 1/35 scale, but by the same token it can work with using different manufacturers figures.
In real life we are all different shapes and sizes. Of course equipment and weapons must be the same size despite variation in the physical build of people. One slight difference to that is helmet size. I understand the Germans had at least three sizes for their troops to choose from dependant on the individuals head.
I know from experience that Miniart figures are sculpted on the more heavier build, larger size of 1/35 whilst Dragon figures are more slight in stature, even amongst its own figure sets there seems to be a variation. The older panzer crew I purchased are smaller in build than some of the more recent Gen2 sets I purchased.
So whilst I agree there is a difference I think by comparison and good matching they can work together.
As for the comment regarding style of sculpting again I agree that the folds are represented differently but I tend to treat my injection moulded figures as a starting and will work on them to add detail, sharpen etc. anyway. Its not that difficult.
Regards
Alan |
