Hassan,
I would respectfully remind you that you have indulged in the same sort
of silliness yourself on this DG in just the last couple of weeks. In
one of your posts, you stated most clearly that people who built models
of SS figures "loved" the SS. I am not interested in playing games about
semantics of the English language of your actual phrasing - your meaning
was quite clear - or for that matter being subjected to dime-store
psychobabble about why people model certain subjects and not others. I
did not respond to that thread, because you have a "right" to say what
you feel and I can always ignore the topics that don't interest me.
However, you now can't justify getting your own feathers ruffled for the
exact same sorts of transgressions you were committing yourself.
If you're gonna hand out "insults" to those who model WWII German
subjects, you've got to be thick-skinned enough when you get some
"insults" directed your way in response. I am assuming that nobody has
INTENTIONALLY tried to create mischief in this regard, simply because I
would rather believe that to be the case here since it makes the level
of discourse a bit less heated when these topics come up, as they
inevitably do several times a year (interestingly brought up by the same
people time and time again too!).
One last thing. I earnestly hope the PC police stay off this board. It
serves no constructive purpose to demand that people apologize for
writing something that you don't want to read because you hold a
different opinion. "Freedom of speech" and "freedom not to be offended
by another's freedom of speech" are not the same thing.
I hope you take this response "constructively", because I make it with
no ulterior motives or animosity. I am simply stating a point of view
that i would like you to consider.
