Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

These are the two that attach in front of the driver on his left just to the side of his hatch?
The APG Model '42 does have these two gauges (well, at least the sheet metal bracket that holds them) as well as the three that mount underneath the driver's hatch. You can also see these two gauges in some photographs taken by the Germans of the interior of a captured Model '42. So, it's a safe bet they do belong there;-)

The rack for the DT drums is also visable in the German photos between the seats. This detail is missing from the Aberdeen tank but there appear to be brackets for mounting it, so once again this should be correct for a '42. There may also be another rack on the driver's left between his seat and the hull side.

If you can find a copy of "The T-34 Russian Battle Tank" by Hughes and Mann, MBI Publishing 1999, it has several pretty good photos of the captured tank which may be of some help.

So, are you going with the STZ Model '42?
