Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Well, why not? Tiger Is are a dime a dozen. Tiger Is as portrayed in a movie are interesting and unique.

That's a little like asking, why paint a miniature of William Wallace as portrayed by Mel Gibson? There are minis of him in the war garb and all, and they sell well -- movies are part of our cultural life, a big part, and portraying things from them is interesting.

This is particularly interesting, as they made a pretty good effort to mock up a Tiger, and the appearance of these faux Tigers is intriguing and a worthy modeling subject, IMO.

If I can't wrangle one of these at a reasonable price, I may do a "Tiger" from A Bridge Too Far -- finally an excuse to build a Leopard I! Or maybe a "German panzer" from Patton -- M48 painted in sand with the Balkan cross. :)
