Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

I've seen the chopped upswept arms turned into horizontal ones by a major resin manufacturer. Its effort didn't look right. (Perhaps the idea by Eric S will work better).

Here are some alternative ideas:

1) get a set from any of the Academy Sherman hulled kits (Achilles, M-10, M4A2, M12). They're the best stock horiz arm VVS units available. Grab them from the M4A2 kit as the M4A2 was supposed to have upswept arms (Academy's mistake).

2) get coversion parts from Formations Models. They make one set to convert the Tamiya VVS and another for Italeri/DML VVS. The cost is $12/$15 each.

3) others: AFV Club (criticized as too much work), ABM (oop but excellent), Tasca (injection plastic, upcoming release: supposed to be the best yet)
