Christopher thanks for the great picture!!! :)
The overhang is clearly visible in photographs that i have as well as the photos of vehicles (251 rivet-type) that are displayed in the museum. But i wasn't able to scan the photos and show it here as i thought there may be copyright problems. But it's great to see that Christopher has provided us with the best picture.
I fully understand that it may be difficult to see the overhang in the rivet-type. As i have mentioned before, i think there is a slight difference in the size of the overhangs between the rivet-type and the welded-type.
It seems like i'm repeating myself about the overhang (sorry) so i just want to simply say that, if you look at various photographs real carefully there is an overhang. In some photographs the overhang is more clearly visible because of the shadow. But just going away from the topic of shadows, the overhang can be seen in other ways too.
Also, as mentioned, all German amoured vehicles had an overhang.
Dragon has announced that they will be releasing 251 Ausf C, 3 in 1 kit.
I hope this time that the upper hull problems will be fixed (overhang, height, angle, detail...).
What worries me is that the overhang that could be seen in the Volstad illustration (box art) cannot be seen in the new box art...
Personally, i have decided to wait for AFV club's release.
Dragon has made three 251Cs but in various respects it has disappointed me. Not just the overhang but if i talk about the other mistakes then it would be endless.
Compared to other great kits Dragon has produced this kit is lacking.
it's shame as i felt the quality of Dragon's kit was increasing, consequently i was really looking forward to the release. oh well... :) |
