Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Shane,

Yes the SU-100 used T-34 tracks as it was based on the T-34 chassis. I have seen photos with both early and late tracks, but late type being the most used and your best bet. As far as aftermarket, I can tell you about Maquette's offering, I used them on a T-34/85 recently. They are cheap and look good on the model, but sure are a big pain to clean up. Flash on all sides of some links and the usual pin marks on the inside of each link. I spent about 6 hours cleaning them all up. I also noticed a very tight fit, so I lightly filed every other links mating surface. A wealth of info on the SU-100 can be found at http://www.battlefield.ru/su100.html , a russian site thats helped me a few times.
Hope this helps,

Clair
